Oh, what the hell. MEME MONSTER!
Being at home and awake pre-noon? A strange business. I shall do this meme to cope.

1. Take five books off your bookshelf.
2. Book #1 -- first sentence
3. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
4. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
5. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
6. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph:

At the hour of sunset, on a hot spring day, two citizens appeared in the Patriarch's Ponds' Park. Mr. Cruncher's temper was not at all improved when he came to his breakfast. There was a groan of bedsprings and Harry's mattress descended a few inches as George sat down near his feet. The Great King's household was pathetically depleted. Tomorrow, when the apricots are here.

1. The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov
2. A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens
3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix - J.K. Rowling
4.The Nature of Alexander - Mary Renault
5. The Unicorn Hunt - Dorothy Dunnet

Is it sad that I actually knew which part of which book the Harry/George reference came from?

Let's scrap 'sad' and call it 'impressive'. *grins*
