Wow. Today was so hot that I felt like I was going to melt into little Nifra!puddles all over the hardwood floors of the building we're painting. It was in fact, so hot, that I got to go home early. Yay.
So tommorow I *will* control the stereo at work. There's only so much gangster rap I can take before snapping completely, and in the extreme heat that level lowers exponentially with each degree above ninety. I've prepared three cds filled with the poppiest, trashiest music that I'm ashamed to admit I love. I will play it loudly on the stereo that I *will* control. This is a punitive measure against those who have monopolized the stereo, and I think a particularly inventive one. I think that after a day spent blaring such lovlies as "I would do anything for love" by Meatloaf, "It's all coming back to me now" by Celine Dion and "I want it that way" by the Backstreet boys they will have learned their lesson.
Vacation's coming up next week! Woohoo! I'm going home! That means no ethernet for a while, but really with my computer? It doesn't make any difference at all. But vacation means sun. It means family and free laundry and good food and time to write. Which coincides nicely with me running into things I'm excited about writing in A Deeper Season. Home. I *heart* home and I get to spend a full week there. Yay! Yay! Yay! *more happy dancing*
