Put on your red shoes and dance with me.
I am a hot house flower, that has been planted in the earth and left to flourish under the loving hand of a happy gardener. I am a once wounded dolphin, re-released into the wild to frolic happily through the waves with my dolphiny co-compatriots.

I am a Florida girl, who has spent an entire winter inside, shivering beside the radiator, and now? Now I am given the weather for which I was intended. Now I am tan. I am brown as a berry, and I am twice as sweet. Kind of.

Ahh, sun, sun, sun. Let me now compose a brief haiku, commemorating how much I love the sun, in this moment:

Oh sun! You are round!
And gaseous! I wear sunglasses
in your glare of light.

And a related sun-ku:

Those sunglasses give
me a very strange tan line.
People point and stare.

Anyway, none of that is important. No, it is merely as a sidebar to the intensity of my love for West Wing Season 2 (which I have just purchased on DVD, dear God, are there 12 steps for this kind of thing?) and Good Omens (Neil Gaiman, I will have your babies, if you so desire).

Crowley --- No one laughs at your sunglasses man.

Shadwell -- Your name is just so good.

Azariphale -- I want to pinch your angelic little cheeks.

And so on and so forth.

Sam Seaborn -- Your babies, too, will I have. Should you be un-fictional, and in any way interested in a 20 year old undergrad from New York. And not Josh.

CJ -- Like Toby, when *don't* I want to make out with you?

Toby --- My love for you remains ever so pure.

And so on and so forth.

Here's the next thing, my darling rose buds (and I have no idea why it seemed appropriate for me to type that just then, but it sure did), but I've just noticed that I've been friended by a handful of new people -- and I find myself wanting to do an old meme, all over again. Because it was fun the first time around, it'll be twice as nice now.

Let's get to know each other!

I am Nifra. I am currently *not* being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster. I am, however, watching Futurama, which I love. My favorite color is purple, and I would happily live in Christan Kane's pocket, if possible. I love cheese, and many other foods which begin with C. I am not tall, but not short, and my glasses have purple frames. I like Jimi Hendrix and comic books.

Who are you? Do you eat pesto? How did you find my journal? Tell me something I don't know about you, or something I *should* know about you, and tell me what you think I should do to entertain you. *grins* I'm currently taking advice (though I make no promises as to what will happen -- though I love me some advice, I take direction about as well as a house cat.)

C'mon, y'all, simply put: let's dance!

umm, I'm your podlet. Gahd, ya think you'd remember.

You know that I eat pesto. As well as avacado, too. I like a balanced diet.

I found your journal cause you said hey, go look at my journal. Then you got one for me. Aren't you a sweetie? *cough*

Okay, so something you don't know about me.

...five minutes later...

ummm, is this a trick question?

oh! hey, did you know that I have a birthmark on my left butt cheek? no, no I do not believe you knew that. HA!

Something that you *should* know about me is that the other night I had tea with Book and we discussed River using various homilies and superfluous hand gestures. We also talked about Wash and Zoe and how they are so cute together. I think Book might not be a preacher, but that just might be surmising on my part...

And now, for advice. As if you've ever listened to me before, phhffftttt.

*dances with you*

*clears throat*

I mean. That sounds like a fun dinner.

What the hell is pesto? Is it something I've eaten and just not assigned a name to...or is this a hi-I-live-in-the-sticks thing?
the opposite of batman: alan cummingpearl_o on May 31st, 2004 08:31 pm (UTC)
Pesto = fresh basil smashed up or whirred into a paste with olive oil, garlic, and parmesan cheese. And then you can put it on spaghetti. Or put it on other things. Or just eat it straight, if you're into that sort of thing. Mmm, pesto.
pure FORESHADOWING: swedish chefnifra_idril on June 2nd, 2004 08:33 pm (UTC)
What pearl_o forgot to mention is that pesto is not just a food, it's a way of life!! *loves her pesto*
What the hell is up with the mummy?!: guh viceserialkarma on May 31st, 2004 08:42 pm (UTC)
I missed this meme the last time around. Or likely I ignored it, because i do that sometimes.

I *love* pesto. In fact, I had tortellini in pesto for lunch today.

I think men with cigarettes are fucking sexy as shit.

I have been watching the BBC series The Office. I am two parts amused and one part cringing from my embarrassment squick.

Lyra's cat likes me almost as much as it likes you.*g*

My basement is slowly flooding and beginning to smell like damp socks.

I have NO idea how I found your journal. Something you wrote was probably recommended to me.

Um, you don't need to do anything to entertain me, this meme is entertaining as it is.

...although if you wanted to write some dS, I would find that extremely entertaining.*g*
pure FORESHADOWING: big pimpin'nifra_idril on June 2nd, 2004 08:35 pm (UTC)
Lyra's cat and I have a bond. A special bond. That's based on mutual...something. Weirdness.

*grins* And you want me to write the dS, do you? *ponders*

I want you to!
Virtual Insomnia: sonyavirtualinsomnia on May 31st, 2004 08:46 pm (UTC)
Well, I'll play! :)

I friended you because I love your Smallville fanfic. "A Pale Distance" is one of my favorites. I keep meaning to leave you feedback and forgetting, cuz I'm a horrible slacker (bad Sonya!!), but I'll try and do that soon.

As far as me? I'm a big fan of Smallville and Firefly currently, though Angel's recent cancellation broke my heart up into tiny little pieces, too.

I love pesto and I love cheese, I have a weakness for cheesecake (mmmmmmmmm), purple is also my favorite color though my glasses frames are brown (for shame), I would join you in CK's pocket in a heartbeat and comic books are fun (though I can no longer afford to buy them, which sucks).

As far as entertaining me goes? Just be your regular charming self. After all, that's what brought me here. :)

*laughs and hugs you* I shall endeavor to be as charming as possible, hon. And, you know, Angel's cancellation I think was *designed* to create broken little itty bitty heart pieces everywhere. *sighs heavily*

Toby --- My love for you remains ever so pure.

Hee! You know I feel the same way. *g* I, too, have been enjoying my S2 DVDs. Ah, the good old days. LOL. My favorite Toby-centric episode in this season is 17 People. I love it when he figures things out and that he's relentless about it. *cheers for Toby*
pure FORESHADOWING: paul sexnifra_idril on June 5th, 2004 12:03 pm (UTC)
*laughs* I was watching the commentary you mentioned and I love how Janel Maloney was all "I find Richard very sexy...he's such a sensual actor, a real *creature*". I mean, I was like, "You bet your ass he is, baby!"
Annetobyfan on June 5th, 2004 05:02 pm (UTC)
Yes, indeed. I loved that comment. A woman after my own heart. *g*

I am your favorite newbie, silly.

I have not eaten pesto often, but not because I dislike it; I just do not have much pesto in my life.

I have no idea how I found you, but aren't you glad I did? *snugs*

I completed first and second grades in one year, which is why I'm younger than everyone else in my grade. This is, incidentally, my excuse for being behind the learning curve in anything in which I am behind the learning curve.

I think you should be writing some femslash. But, well, you do that, which is how you've earned my undying love! *licks*
Hammyangryhamster on June 1st, 2004 11:03 am (UTC)
hm, well i friended you a while ago, but i don't remember doing this in your lj, so here goes:

i'm angryhamster, also known as anez.

i didn't know what pesto was until someone in your comments explained, and i would now have to answer no as parmesan cheese makes me queasy.

i found your journal though your lovely fic a little while ago, and friended it because i think your writing is really good.

something you should know about me...? hm. um. er. i live in ireland, and i wish i had the patience/drive to write more? oh, and, since you mentioned it, the first ever episode of futurama was on tv today. i love that episode.

i can't speak for anyone else, but if you want to entertain ME you can write more fic. :P
pure FORESHADOWING: angelina sexnifra_idril on June 5th, 2004 12:07 pm (UTC)
*salutes* More fic, ay yay, capitain! *grins* And oh man, do I love me that first episode of futurama -- I think it may be my favorite.
Aelita: angelaelita on June 2nd, 2004 10:14 am (UTC)
I am Aelita. I am not being devoured by a gelatinous monster but I think I'd prefer it to having to meet my latest deadline. My glasses are frameless and I loooove cheese and comic books. *g* I do like pesto though not too much. I have no memories of how I found your journal.

How about I try to entertain you? Would you like... *whispers* some Good Omens quotes?

God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

Aeloraaelora on June 2nd, 2004 12:34 pm (UTC)
I am Aelora. And while I am not being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster, I *am* eating Swedish Fish. I love Swedish Fish. Especially the green ones. I currently live in the Midwest, in a little town that is almost called Smallville, except there is an 'i' instead of an 'a', and a 'th' instead of 'll'. I am obsessed with Lex Luthor (comics, cartoon, SV, you name it) and more so obsessed with Victoria's Secret model, Alessandra Ambrosio. I write het fic in the form of my girl!Clark series. Don't hate me??

I eat pesto, especially the brand by Christopher Ranch from Gilroy, CA. It has lots of garlic in it and is particularly good on sourdough. I don't know how I found you - I think while friends friends list surfing due to your fabulous meta on SV. And I think you made me laugh. As long as you make me laugh, or make me think, I'll probably keep you around. ;)
pure FORESHADOWING: feel you fallingnifra_idril on June 5th, 2004 12:05 pm (UTC)
Hey man, I'm not hater. I'm a lover. See? *loves and grins*

I'm going to have to check out that Christopher Ranch business. I'm in the mood for a mighty fine pesto...

Hum, what can I say about me.

Well, the color of my skin is as brown as a walnut. The passing age of time is older than sand. I love reading slash Smallville better than writing slash CSI fic. I love energetic, intelligent, witty, conversations. I love analysis in any form that makes me think.

Pesto! Most definitely with grilled chicken and a bit of pasta.

Found my way here from reading your fan fic on FFlist and at your Neon Nights website.
